Gastronomy
The gastronomy of the Val d'Aran is another element of its ethnological patrimony which has been especially rediscovered these last years thanks to individuals and associations of the Valley such as the Gegant Madrónius which has put together a number of old recipes previously maintained only through the oral tradition. Dishes like the "truhada" or the "patarnes" had the possibility of being lost, but were fortunately rescued in time. In addition to this process the recuperation of artesanal products such as the cheese from Bagergue have been put forth with the help of the Aranese government.
